Garden Master
My very first game, titled Garden Master, is a one button rhythm game.
Having completed it in my preparatory year, I'm proud of it for the technical challenge it represented. However, I'm disappointed that I didn't have more time to work on the actual game design.
Working conditions
Individual project lasting about a month. This is my very first game!
My project
I chose to make a Guitar Hero-like, but since I only had one input at my disposal, I focused on the specifics of the notes. There are four types of notes with different properties:
Pink Notes - Single press the space bar when they arrive on the line.
Green Notes - Hold down the spacebar while the note is on the line until it disappears.
Yellow Notes - Spam the space bar to unlock the lock then play the note with a single press.
Gray Notes - Trap Notes: Do not press the space bar when they are on the line.
This project was more of an exercise in independent programming and project management than game design.
